Clontuskert Rounders Club would like to invite children aged 5+ and adults to our End of Season Open Day on Sunday 20th September, from 11am–1pm at Clontuskert Pitch.

Whether you have played Rounders before or have never picked up a bat, everyone is welcome! Come along, have some fun and give Rounders a try.

This is a free event and there will be lots to enjoy on the day, including:

💪 Throwing Challenges
🎉 Fun Games & More!

☕️ Tea, Coffee & Treats after the Fun!

There will be medals up for grabs for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group in the running and throwing challenges. 🥇🥈🥉

And the fun doesn’t stop at 1pm! Following the Open Day, our Clontuskert mixed adult team will take on Athenry in a Rounders match. Come along and support the team! 👏

Clontuskert Rounders Club

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Read and Raise Campaign at St. Augustine’s N.S., Clontuskert. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our pupils, families, staff, local businesses and wider school community, our students logged an amazing 26,549 reading minutes, with 76 students participating and 148 donations received.

This campaign was about much more than fundraising. It encouraged a love of reading, brought our school community together and showed what can be achieved when everyone works towards a common goal. We are especially grateful to our local business sponsors and to every individual who donated and shared our campaign.

The funds raised will be used to support Phase 1 of our Playground Project, an exciting initiative aimed at enhancing our outdoor learning and play environment. Phase 1 will focus on creating a more engaging, inclusive and enjoyable playground space where all children can learn, play, socialise and develop important physical and social skills.

The success of Read and Raise has given us a fantastic start towards making this vision a reality. Every minute read and every euro donated will have a lasting impact on the children of St. Augustine’s N.S. for years to come.

Thank you to all families who participated in our recent Patronage Survey as part of the Department of Education’s patronage divestment process.
A total of 22 out of 56 households completed the survey, representing a 39% response rate. The survey gathered parental preferences regarding school configuration, patronage/ethos, and language of instruction.
The results showed strong support for our school’s current arrangements:

95% of respondents favoured a co-educational school.
68% preferred a denominational (religious) patron.
82% preferred English as the language of instruction.

The Board of Management has reviewed the findings and will share the report with the wider school community as part of the ongoing consultation process.
We sincerely thank all parents and guardians who took the time to contribute their views. Your feedback is an important part of shaping the future of primary education and informing the Department of Education’s wider patronage review process.
